Power Purchase Agreements

Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) are a great way to sell the energy you generate

Whether you generate electricity from wind, solar, biomass, anaerobic digestion, landfill gas, sewage gas, energy from waste, advanced conversion technology or CHP, we have the right PPA for your business.

EDF PPAs are a great way to sell electricity you export to the grid, as well as your renewable energy certificates, if your business generates electricity on a commercial scale. That’s installations larger than 250KW and registered in the Renewable Obligation scheme.

Choose your PPA

From super simple to fantastically flexible, we offer a range of PPAs to fit your approach to generating and selling electricity. Pick the one that's right for you:

Certainty PPA

  • Gives you price certainty and protection from wholesale market price volatility
  • Ideal for generators who have a high level of control over their output and want price certainty
  • Well suited to: established wind and solar, biomass, anaerobic digestion, landfill gas, sewage gas and energy from waste
  • Requires a minimum output of 250MWh per year

Clarity PPA

  • Gives you flexibility to export your power when you want and get a market reflective price
  • Well suited to: wind, solar, hydro, CHP, backup generation
  • Requires a minimum output of 250MWh per year

Choice PPA

  • Gives you greater price certainty than contracts that are only linked directly to the wholesale market
  • Ideal for generators with a variable output who want less exposure to wholesale market prices
  • Well suited to: established wind and solar, biomass, anaerobic digestion, CHP, landfill gas, sewage gas and energy from waste
  • Requires a minimum output of 1,000MWh per year

Expert PPA

  • Gives you full control over your energy management
  • Ideal for experienced generators with consistent and reliable output who want full control over timing, quantity and frequency of power sales
  • Well suited to: biomass, anaerobic digestion, landfill gas, sewage gas and energy from waste
  • Requires a minimum output of 10,000MWh per year (and greater than 250 kW per installation)
